INITIATIVES
SHAPING THE FUTURE
REFORESTATION VIEW MORE
We protect and preserve over 12,355 acres of natural forest and registered plantations in Guatemala, safeguarding the habitat of hundreds of species of flora and fauna.
CIRCULAR ECONOMY VIEW MORE
In 1995, we pioneered the first industrial plastic recycling plant in Central America. Since then, we have invested in state-of-the-art technology that enables us to recover PET containers and transform them into FDA-approved raw materials. Currently, our ECOPET plant has the capacity to recycle 3.2 million containers daily.
GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS VIEW MORE
Since 2023, we have been measuring our emissions following the guidelines of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol from the World Resources Institute (WRI).
RENEWABLE ENERGY VIEW MORE
52% of our electricity comes from renewable sources, including the 12 MW Poza Verde Hydroelectric Plant. We also implement LED lighting, solar panels, and low-consumption machinery to reduce our carbon footprint.
CASTILLO CÓRDOVA FOUNDATION VIEW MORE
Founded in 1990, our foundation focuses on education, nutrition, and natural disaster emergency response.

Guatemalans to the Rescue: Since 2001, this program has responded to over 28 emergencies, including forest fires, landslides, hunger, and storms, thereby benefiting more than 750,000 people.
EDUCATION VIEW MORE
Our Mariano y Rafael Castillo Córdova School, established in 1963, is a benchmark for academic excellence and values education.
GUATEMALANS FOR NUTRITION VIEW MORE
Launched to combat chronic malnutrition in Guatemala, this program has benefited over 5,000 people. It focuses on community sustainability through five key areas: primary healthcare, nutritional support, water and sanitation, food access, and economic strengthening.
FORTIFIK2 VIEW MORE
We promote employee well-being through a program designed to improve nutrition and the development of their children during the first 1,000 days of life. Through educational sessions, health monitoring, early stimulation, and campaigns promoting healthy habits at home, we ensure their physical and cognitive growth in a nurturing environment.
